Graduate retreat at Bonderman Field Station

In August, ESS graduate students rang in the new school year with a retreat to the University of Utah's Bonderman Field Station at Rio Mesa. The retreat included three panels to help orient graduate students to our graduate program. These panels included: What I wish I knew as a new student, Navigating an MS Degree, and Navigating a PhD. Graduate students also embarked on hikes through the desert, played volleyball, took a swim in the muddy Dolores River, and participated in bird-banding.

A huge welcome to our incoming 2024 cohort of graduate students,  and welcome back to our returning students! Thank you to ESS faculty Jessica DiCarlo and Zach Lundeen for organizing an amazing time.
