Undergraduate Research at Bonderman Field Station
ESS undergraduate Ceci Eubanks traveled to the U's Bonderman Field Station at Rio Mesa to conduct field research. Her project is investigating the spatial relationship between wind speed/direction and vegetation height/density. Along with help from ESS associate professor Tim Edgar, she collected data from four anemometers (instruments used to measure wind speed and direction), set up a 60x60m plot and subdivided it into 3x3m cells. In the spring, the team will return to conduct the vegetation survey by hand and drone!
