Burning questions: Discovering the roles of fire, fuel and fauna

Mitchell Power's research on wildfire patterns is featured in a new exhibit at the Natural History Museum of

Utah. The exhibit examines how climate change and herbivore extinction influence wildfire patterns. Power, an ESS Professor and Curator of Botany, led a field research excursion to Tony Grove Lake in Logan Canyon, where he used specialized equipment to extract two sediment cores, capturing thousands of years of environmental data.
