Living Learning Communities (LLC)


LLCs bring together students with common interests. They promote a strong sense of community and offer opportunities for additional activities related to student interests. Collaboration and mentoring can help students make faster progress toward their degrees.

 

Sustainability Action & Leading Together (SALT) LLC Description


If you’re interested in learning about careers in sustainability and engaging in events and actions designed to further sustainability on campus and in our communities, the Sustainability Action & Leading Together (SALT) Living Learning Community (LLC) is an excellent option for you. SALT LLC activities are coordinated by the School of the Environment, Society & Sustainability within the College of Social & Behavioral Science and is located in the heart of campus. Residents live in Kahlert Village

What do SALT students do?


- Students will be able to identify opportunities to listen to, learn from, and work with people with different perspectives. 

- Students will be able to build relationships with individuals and places of local interest, while exploring their environment in a fashion that does no harm.

- Students will be able to understand ways to engage with campus and community partners to affect positive change related to the environment and society.

- Students will be able to describe the myriad types of sustainability professionals and engage in networking opportunities provided by the College of Social and Behavioral Science and the School of the Environment, Society, and Sustainability 

 

Who's Eligible: First-Year Students in 2025-2026 
Who Selects Residents? Selection for SALT LLC is completed by the School for the Environment, Society & Sustainability 
Associated Course: 1 credit seminar – “Exploring Career Pathways in Environment, Society & Sustainability” to be taken in the first year of the SALT LLC program
